ICE was established in 1995 under the original name of
Immobiliser Central Europe, Ltd. The main activity was
connected with car security systems produced by The
Immobiliser, Ltd. This UK company coined the product name
„immobiliser“, the most popular anti-theft car security
system. The number of installed systems reached 25,000
pieces.
In
1996 the activity of the whole company was converted to
global communication systems, like GSM and Internet. As one
of the first companies in Europe, ICE has started
development of intelligent microprocessor units working in
a GSM environment.
During
1996 and 1997, ICE took significant steps towards becoming
a dominant player in complex GSM and Internet systems:

In
1996 ICE introduced the first GSM technological unit for
mobile computing, SIEMENS GSM module M1, to the Czech
market.
·
The
first Czech software for SMS-Internet gateways was developed
and presented at INVEX '96, the second biggest computer fair
in Europe.
·
The
first European GSM POS terminal based on SMS technology was
developed and presented together with the UK company THYRON,
Ltd., at Smart Card '97 in London.
·
The
first European system for access to bank accounts called
GSM-Banking was developed.

The
complex SIM activation system was developed for the GSM
network of RadioMobil joint-stock company, the daughter
company of German D1 provider T-Mobile
·
The
intelligent system DI-MO, connecting digital cameras with
SCSI magneto-optical drives was developed for the Japanese
company OLYMPUS Optical, Ltd., and presented at CEBIT '98 in
Hannover.
·
The
first European system for transfer of digital pictures via
GSM was developed together with the Czech subsidiary of
OLYMPUS Optical, Ltd. This system was the first product in
the GSMart line of intelligent systems based on WISMO
modules from the French company WAVECOM, SA.
·
With a
Czech subsidiary of UK company PSION, a Software Development
Kit for connection of PSION Series 5 palmtops with OLYMPUS
CAMEDIA cameras was developed.
·
A
system for communication between NOKIA Communicator 9110 and
OLYMPUS Cameras was developed, based on GEOS OS.
·
The
patented technology SignBox for digital signature of digital
photographs was developed together with OLYMPUS Europa GmbH.

For the above mentioned SignBox, the
company has received the IST prize 1999. This prize
is being awarded to the 25 most innovative companies in
Europe by the European Union.

Since
2000, ICE has been developing a new line of GPRS intelligent
units for telematic systems based on IP connectivity.
·
In
2001 ICE has received the Crystal disk, the highest
Czech award in IT field, for its digital C-Pen manual
scanner (at INVEX 2001).
·
In
2002 ICE has developed the world's first GPRS/TCP/IP
intelligent unit InterSeal based on the WISMO module from
WAVECOM, S.A.
·
In
2002 ICE has received another Crystal disk, the
highest Czech award in IT field, for its GPRS module
InterSeal (at INVEX 2002).
·
At the
international exhibition of measurement and automation
techniques PRAGOREGULA 2003, ICE has received the Grand
Prix 2003 award for the best exhibit InterSeal
2.0, a GSM/GPRS module enabling to connect any technological
device via a GPRS/Internet network.

In 2004 ICE
was selected as a consortium partner of ALCATEL Space in the
Galileo joint undertaking (GJU) project SCORE, where
it is responsible for development of a new GPS/EGNOS
embedded terminal.

In
2005 the company was awarded the prize of the European Space
Agency (ESA) for its personal watcher.
·
In
2006 the company was invited as a partner into a consortium
of EADS, THALES MARIUS, developing mobile European system
for big scale crisis situations.

In
2007 the company was awarded IDET 2007 Prize
for the best project of the year – system JESTŘÁB (HAWK) –
together with the companies CCE, INTV, HACKER and VOP 026.
·
In
2008 the company was awarded GALILEO Masters prize by
the European Space Agency (ESA) for the rescue system
I-Help-You.
